I believe dogs are loaned to us from heaven. They are sent here to teach us many valuable lessons. Loyalty, friendship, unconditional love, and they always live today like there's no tomorrow.

My Toby was a good old boy. Loyal, good-spirited, and always there with a wag the tail and a mischevious gleam in his eye. He never asked anything of me but keeping his water bowl full and as much chow as he could handle. Usually more than he needed. He was a good companion to the end. My only regret is our loyal friends don't live as long as us.
This is a beautiful post. I too believe that dogs are lent to us to love for a little while. They teach so much yet ask so little. I know that you will miss Toby. May you find comfort in the beautiful posts you created and what I know must be wonderful memories that he created.
